I probably should start getting better about taking more pictures so my posts aren’t super boring, especially since I’m trying to post more now. There’s always an abundance of Brooke pictures though, so have no fear 🙂 Because really, who wants to read these days anyway?
Moving on. Yesterday was pretty good. Made it to Crossfit. Here was the WOD:
Warm up was a 2 minute jump rope (I rode the stationary bike for 2 minutes), following by some foam rolling, 10/leg bulgarian split squats, 10 pull ups, 10 ring dips.
Strength was working on our High Bar Back Squat. The high bar part is in relation to where the bar sits on your back as you squat.
My back squat form is pretty terrible. Apparently I have a weak core (imagine that). So I have some strengthening exercises that I need to do so I can increase how much I can lift.
I just skipped the first part of conditioning all together. Since I’m on a hiatus from jumping and running, I figured it best to not try box jumps just yet. I sat back and watched and it looked ridiculous. I have got to start taking my phone into CF so I can take pictures for you guys, but one guy in the class stacked 2 boxes and did a seated box jump. I believe it was 48 inches? Maybe more. Insane.
For the second part of the conditioning, 21-15-9 means it’s a workout for time, doing 21 reps of each exercise, then 15, then 9. I did the workout without scaling for my foot, but used 11kg kettle bells instead of 16 for the lunges. It was tough and a bit painful at times with the way the foot bends for those but I did it. Burpees sucked. Burpees always suck. My time was 9:07. I am pretty sure I was the last to finish but who cares. I finished.
I’m on an english muffin, PB and banana kick apparently. Lunch was left overs from Sunday’s dinner.
Lots of fruit was eaten yesterday (blueberries and grapefruit – yum!). Dinner was a ribeye from Costco that Robert and I split, and he made yummy green beans with onions and bacon, and he shredded parsnips on the mandolin, seasoned them, and cooked them like hashbrowns. They were delicious! Oh and of course some dark chocolate to round out the day.
And last night was play time with the happiest baby in the world. She loves playing ball with her daddy.
Today might end up being a rest day. I’ve got my doctors appointment for a physical at 11 so I don’t know if I will be out of there early enough to make it to my noon CF class, and tonight is girls night so there will be some wine 🙂
In an effort to get more comments on here (because who doesn’t love to read the comments?) I’m going to introduce asking you guys a few questions. Feel free to share!
