I obviously took some time off last week…sort of intentional…sort of not…we made a trip down to Charleston to visit family and get away for a little bit, and my mom actually doesn’t have internet in her house and I have terrible service in her house (get on that Sprint…) so blogging didn’t happen. But it’s quite alright. Lots of quality time was spent with lots of family!
We arrived super late Tuesday night so that we had all day Wednesday to play in the warm sun, since it was over 70 degrees out! We took full advantage and took Brooke to one of the local play grounds. Of course she loved it.
Quality time with Grandma and selfies with mama
And we got to meet our newest nephew, Connor! He’s SO super cute..he doesn’t have the old man look like Henry does 🙂
Robert got to go for a plane ride with James
And of course we had to go to the beach.
This girl loves her daddy and the beach
There were starfish everywhere…it was really bizarre. It was also Henry’s first visit to the beach! I think he liked it!
You’d never know it by looking at Brooke, but it was still a little chilly out on the beach – mainly due to the wind…
She didn’t mind though
They both were tuckered out after the big beach trip
Grandma watched the kiddos for me and Robert so that we could have a date lunch. We went to Graze on highway 17 (near the Whole Foods) and HOLY COW. It was amazing. My dish is on the right, the Cinnamon Chili Dusted Sea Scallops (Sweet potato and brown butter pancake, sauteed tiny green beans, granny smith apple, onion and pancetta cream) and Robert had the Duck Confit Ravioli (Sage brown Butter, sundried apricots, toasted macadamia nuts, crispy kale). Both dishes were seriously awesome. Highly recommend!
I hit the gym for the first time in 2 months at almost 6 weeks postpartum. It hurt. It hurt bad. But I’m glad I got it out of the way. As a matter of fact, it still hurts 🙂
And Uncle James, getting some snuggles in with our big boy, who at his one month appointment weighed in at 9 lbs and 3 oz. From that little 6 lb and 12 oz peanut to over 9 pounds in a month – he’s an eater, alright!
Our trip was so nice, I was sad to leave, but we are back at home now and today was my first day as a stay at home mom without any extra hands to help….I’ll be posting on this very soon…
Have a great rest of your week!
