Oh man – third trimester already?!? Where has the time gone. January will be here before I know it (especially with how our weekend social calendar looks for the next two months, oh boy!!)
Also, a quick update – we went to the doctor last Friday for the 28 week check where they also did an ultrasound to check the placenta (because of the complete placenta previa I was diagnosed with at 20 weeks), to check baby boy and get some more measurements of his heart (nothing wrong here, they just didn’t get any clear shots at 20 weeks), and so I could take be screened for gestational diabetes.
First things first – the placenta moved! It’s up and out of the way of the cervix, yay! That means no more pelvic rest, no automatic c-section, and just relief all around 🙂
Also – baby boy is doing great – growing like a weed and folding himself in half. He really was doing yoga in there…I told my sister that if someone had a gun to my head and asked me to get into this position, I wouldn’t make it. He’s a flexible little dude!
And lastly – I passed my glucola test – hoorah! No gestational diabetes for this girl 🙂
How far along: 28 weeks 2 days
Baby Size: An eggplant – 13.6-14.8 inches and 2.5 lbs (we actually had an ultrasound last Friday and little one was estimating around 2 pounds and 9 ounces already)
Weight gain: Wellll between weeks 24 and 28, I gained 6 lbs. Whoops?? That puts me around 11 total, so the Dr made no mention of it and I’m guessing as long as it isn’t like that from here on out, that I’ll be fine.
Workouts: Last week wasn’t the best…only made it to the gym or to work out two times (boo) but this week has been better already…Got in a home gym workout on Sunday and made it to the gym Monday and Tuesday. I’m skipping today for a rest day (and to get some work done) but I’ll make it back tomorrow.
Maternity clothes: Yep yep. I’ve popped out for sure, so maternity pants are a must anymore. I can still get on some non-maternity jeans and a couple pairs of work pants but it’s not terribly comfortable.
Stretch marks: Nothing.
Sleep: Sleep is hit or miss. Last night, I woke up at 12:30 with the worst charlie horse ever, only it wasn’t just my calf, but it was my foot AND my shin (?)…literally, my entire lower leg was cramping up and it was so painful it took my breath away. It went away after a few minutes of me jumping around and trying to get it to release, but man, it was killer! Otherwise, mainly sleeping, waking up 2 or so times to pee, and falling back asleep.
Gender: It’s a BOY! (for sure…I made them confirm at the 28 week appointment)
Movement: B2 is a mover. I told Robert about how active he is and how I’m pretty sure that when it’s time to go, he isn’t going to want to wait around…it’s like he always has something going on in there (B2, not Robert, hah)….He has also taken a liking to shoving his feet up into my rib cage which feels awesome…
Food cravings: Still all about some apple fritters (or apple anything, really), peanut butter, chocolate anything…good thing (or bad thing) it’s time for the holidays and sweets will always be within arms reach. C’mon will-power!
Aversions: Just tried a pork chop last night and it didn’t go down so well, but other than that I’m doing good…I think…
Labor Signs: Some braxton hicks, but nothing unusual.
What I miss: Not a whole lot…so far so good 🙂
Symptoms: My back has been giving me some issues lately…and just really tired. And hungry. I’ve had a lot of days where I just cannot get full, so I’m trying to just make good decisions on what I eat. Oh and my memory isn’t a memory at all. It’s sort of a black hole where things get lost ALL THE TIME. I have found that keeping lots of notebooks on hand to write things down is a necessity. Robert thinks it is hilarious (especially when I forgot the same thing yesterday AND today in the morning and he had to remind me to go back and get it…ugh). I also forgot a sports bra for CrossFit last week. That isn’t a mistake you want to make very often.
Nursery: We’re at least discussing it, does that count??
Belly Button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Mood: I think my mood is pretty good lately! There are always a couple blips in the radar but I mean, I’ve got lots of hormones and things running through my body, so I think those can be forgiven…right?
Best moment this week: Got the results from my glucola test and PASSED! (that means I don’t have gestational diabetes), that the placenta moved away from my cervix (which means no automatic c-section!), and anytime I fall asleep is just a pretty great moment 😉
I got to have a lovely dinner with a couple wonderful girls from my gym. We went to The Daily (seriously, if you live in Richmond and haven’t been here, drop everything and GO NOW. or when you have time, but really, it is SO GOOD) and they have THE BEST Brussels Sprouts I have ever had in my entire life. So much so, that its the only picture I managed to take of the evening.
But it was so good to see these girls since our schedules are all messy these days!
Oh and lastly, we have had several folks offer to babysit Brooke for us so we can get some Robert and Katie time, so we will be taking everyone up on their offers, since come January, those moments will be few and far between, at least for a while!
Looking forward to: We are headed to see Brooke’s Granddaddy (my dad) this weekend and we are all very excited 🙂
