I always enjoy reading others ‘day in the life’ posts (which is probably weird…and nosy…right?) But I think it’s fun to see how people spend their days. This is a fairly typical day, aside from a nighttime work event, but it’s the norm up until about 5pm 🙂
This is from Tuesday!
4:30am – Brooke wakes up, fuses a little, but lays back down. I watch her on the monitor to make sure she goes back to sleep
5:10am – Brooke’s back up. I go in and get her and bring her into bed with me to snuggle.
6:10am – I’m awake but Brooke’s back asleep, snoozing soundly. I try to get up without rousing her but no dice. We’re all up.
6:15-6:40am – I shower and get myself ready. Robert gets Brooke dressed, fed, and ready for school.
6:40-7:00am – Pack breakfast, lunch, snacks. Make coffee. Get Brooke loaded up and head off to drop her at school.
Normally I’d be dropping the dog off at daycare today too, but I have an event after work, so he’ll play and have fun tomorrow at daycare.
7:15am – drop Brooke at daycare – she does so well with this now – I get a smile and wave and we’re off!
7:40am – arrive to work. Check email. Do a few small things.
8:00am – eat breakfast. Delicious bowl of oatmeal to get the day going. Note – I hadn’t ever put any nut butter in my oatmeal before. You guys – total game changer! SO GOOD. And extra filling! (yay protein!) And topped with some granola for a crunch.
8:00 – 10:30am -work, work, work. Not many deadlines this week (nice change of pace) so I try to catch up on some little stuff and work on some big stuff too.
10:30am – eat snack. English muffin with PB and banana for the win. So good.
10:30 – 11:40am – work, work, work.
11:45am – Change into workout gear and head to CrossFit.
11:55am – Arrive at CrossFitRVA for the noon class. Do a little warm up (i.e. talking to folks before the workout)
12:00pm – 1:00pm – CrossFit – workout was Grace (30 clean & jerks – I used 65lbs) plus a 2,000m row.
1:15pm – Get back to the office, clean up, change, heat up lunch.
1:20 – 1:40pm – Eat lunch while working
1:40 – 5:00pm – work, work, work. I have a snack somewhere in there….a ThinkThin Protein bar. These things are SO GOOD.
5:00pm – leave work and head to a work event in Downtown Richmond.
5:30 – 9:00pm – work event with dinner – the main course wasn’t anything to write home about, but the appetizer and desert were delicious!
They had the desserts out at the place settings as soon as we sat down. How rude! 🙂 The butternut squash soup they served as an appetizer was really good. It seemed to have a marshmellow topping which was really awesome.
9:30pm – arrive home, finally! Catch up with Robert (until he falls asleep on the couch)
9:40-10:00pm – work on this post
10:00pm – wake up Robert and go to bed!
