Happy Monday everybody – I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Ours was very lovely indeed!
We got a new family member (by trading in another one):
The 2012 Dodge Durango! It’s so awesome – we both really love it, and SO MUCH SPACE.
Robert went and picked it up on Friday and brought it home, and after being in it for a little bit I noticed a strange smell anytime the air was blowing. We were going to spiff her up on Saturday anyway, so I suggested we go ahead and switch out the cabin air filter (since who knows when that was done last)…man am I glad we did:
Apparently the previous owners spilled an entire bag of dog food on the dash (the only thing we can think of that could have happened) and it trickled down into the filter. Once Robert pulled the filter out, there was even more food that dropped into the fan that we had to get out. It took several hours to get all of the dog food out, but that was definitely the cause of the stench. So glad we figured it out! (and so gross!)
After we finished with the car, we brought Brooke’s swimming pool and splash thingy out for her to play on. She was pretty happy with this decision.
She watched me mow. I think she’s ‘mowing’.
I’m not as happy as she is when I’m mowing 🙂
She knows what to do when you tell her to say “cheese” and I love it!
We picked some stuff out of the garden, including this gigantic watermelon! We took it to our friends place on Sunday and cut it up, and it was pretty tasty!
Sunday morning started bright and early (someone has a cold) so daddy took Brooke downstairs and outside so Mama could sleep in a little bit. I was up about an hour after them. So nice!
Daddy had coffee.
Brooke always wants whatever we have…she’ll just point at you and yell “MAH!” (more). So daddy “gave her” some coffee. (don’t worry, the cup’s empty)
Brooke also now knows how to play fetch with Stout! She’ll throw the tennis balls (and she’s got a good arm!)
“please throw me the ball…please….please…”
Check out this form! Proud mama right here.
We also started a house project!! We are converting our “dining room” (can it even be called that?? more like a dumping ground) to a play room for the kiddos! We’ve got a lot of work to do but it’s going to be great!
Sunday afternoon, we joined some of our friends and their littles ones for pool time and dinner. It was so fun and so great to see them all (it had been forever!) The kids were amazing by the hole where they were doing some work on a splash pad.
I made the mistake of explaining to them that “yes! that’s a big hole!” and Tyler ran around yelling “BIG HO, BIG HO” – hahaha whoops. Sorry Michelle and Mike 🙂 It was cute though!
How sweet are these 3?? <3
I hope everyone has an awesome week!
