Several weeks ago, we embarked on the 4th Annual Brackmann Family Reunion. This year, as in past years, it was in Gatlinburg, TN. We rent a large house for the weekend and spend lots of time catching up with family that we don’t have many chances to see throughout the year. It is always such a fun time, and there is almost always a hike involved.
Our hike was on Saturday to Rainbow Falls. My sister gave us an awesome backpack for Brooke and it was amazing. Everyone was surprised with how well she did for 3 and a half hours. It also got pretty chilly up at the top of the falls, and I felt awful for not having anything to cover her up with, but we just snuggled a lot to keep her warm 🙂
Uncles Sam and James (who’s holding Brooke) and Aunt Heidi climbing the mountain.
We didn’t take a ton of pictures throughout the hike because, honestly, I was watching where I stepped…I still fell anyway while looking back to say something to Uncle Tom, but it was all good.
Me and my girl keeping warm at the top.

The falls – and if you look closely, you can see James to the left of the falls looking up at it.

The whole hiking group! It was fun trying to keep up with everyone. I made sure to bring up the back just to make sure no one was left behind…….riiiiight….
Back at the cabin, there was always something fun going on, including Uncle James playing with the kiddos in the tunnel. Only I don’t think he was doing it right…
But the kids loved it.
Playing with her cousin Will – these two had so much fun playing and running around together, eating ice, going outside and running around the perimeter of the cabin, and playing in the rocks outside.
Baby jail 🙂
And finally – the whole crew. All 28 of us. And next year there will be 29! So crazy.
The 4th Annual Reunion was such a blast, I just know the 5th will be even more awesome 🙂
