This will be a hodge-podge 🙂
I said “See ya later!” to my friend Audrey, who moved to South Carolina for school. We became fast friends at CrossFitRVA and I’m really going to miss working out with her! Lucky for Audrey, we’ve got lots of family down in South Carolina so she won’t have to go too long without seeing me 🙂
We’ve gotten Brooke’s hair into a pony tail a few times (actually, her teacher Miss Laura has, and I followed suit) – and it’s the best when we take it out and it stays put. Little Alfalfa here!
Robert and I made it out for a date night on Saturday to celebrate our anniversary. We went to Max’s on Broad. They gave us bread when we sat down, along with some olive oil mix to dip. Oh wow. The bread plus the dip was SO GOOD. We ordered Poutine to share as our starter. Poutine is basically fries, cheese curds, and gravy (and apparently is a Belgian dish, although I hear they have a lot of this in Canada). There were huge chunks of bacon on their Poutine. It was okay. Not the best thing I’ve ever had.
For dinner, I ordered the Softshell crab and Robert got the Lamb Osso Bucco. I ordered mine to get Brussels Sprouts instead of rice. That didn’t happen, I guess the server or kitchen forgot. The softshell crab was really good, but a bit chewy. Robert’s dish was good too, and it came with mashed white sweet potatoes (we think). All in all it was just Okay. It was a lot of money to spend on a just ‘Okay’ dinner, so maybe next time we’ll do more research before planning our outing (or going somewhere we know we love).
There was a cool, rustic ambiance about the place, so that was nice. Although we were shoved in the corner upstairs and it made everything really loud, as all the noises and conversations were bouncing off the concrete wall behind us.
Post date night pictures on the deck after we got home. Stout wanted to smile with me 🙂
And one with the hubs 🙂
and yes, I got my hair cut! FINALLY! It had been way too long, and my hair was also way too long. I got about 5-6 inches cut off and I LOVE IT.
Sunday morning, Robert went to play golf with some of his buddies, so I got to spend some quality time with my girl. We went on a 3 mile walk. Brooke LOVES her cheerios out of her snack cup, but she has a hard time keeping them in the cup (or her hand). This drew the attention of some hungry ducks.
They were very excited about the cheerios flying everywhere 🙂
How this is comfortable, I have no idea….But she slept like that for at least 30-45 minutes. Whatever works!!
Hope you guys have a wonderful rest of your week, and if I don’t catch you before, Happy 4th of July!
Oh, and GO USA!!!! (don’t forget to watch the soccer match against Belgium today at 4pm!)
