And how in the world is our sweet little girl already 13 weeks old?! And 3 months?! How is this happening? (and how can I not find time to blog? oh…right…I have a 3 month old…)
Seriously though, the time is absolutely flying by and Brooke is getting sweeter and cuter with each passing day. She is definitely developing her personality (which so far seems pretty laid back) and gives us wonderful smiles all the time! I’m anxiously awaiting her laugh…any day now little one…
Her cheeks are getting chubbier and her thighs chunkier (so cute…on a baby…)
Stats – At her 2 month appointment, B was 11lbs even, 23 and 1/4 inches long, and in pretty much the 25th-50th percentile for everything! I think she’s around 12lbs now.
Health – Poor girl has her first cold! I’m very sad about this and so is she. She woke up this morning all stopped up and congested, so when she tried to breathe through her nose, she’d cough, and then she’d get mad and start wailing…it broke my heart! She’s also got a bit of cradle cap…bummer!
Sleep – *please note that I’m knocking on wood through this entire paragraph* Brooke sleeps phenomenally! She’ll usually go down around 9 or 9:30 (this will get earlier as she gets older) and wakes up when we do, around 5:45. On Saturday night she slept for 11 hours. I couldn’t believe it! Today, because of the cold, she didn’t sleep quite as well (woke up at 4am but I just brought her into our bed and she fell back asleep). Did you read that?! That’s right, she’s in her crib now too! She didn’t have any issues at all transitioning (I think because when she slept in our bed, she wasn’t nestled up beside one of us, she had her own space) and I think it was harder on mom than on Brooke.
Eating – Still eating around 20 ounces each day. She’ll take about 4-5 ounces per feeding and goes 4 hours between eating (and no nighttime meals anymore). It seems to be working!
What Brooke’s up to – She rolled over yesterday from stomach to back AND back to stomach! All in the same day! She’s also a little chatterbox when she wants to be and has learned to ‘spit’ (like blow bubbles)…
How’s mom? – Mom’s back to work. It came way too fast. I took it easy going back (doing some half days and such) but it is hard being away from her, given I was with her basically every second of every day for 12 weeks, and now that is over. It is a little nice that I don’t have to worry about what she is doing constantly, but I really miss her throughout the day. So I really look forward to getting out of work to go pick her up and see her sweet face. I try not to think about what I’m missing or what milestones she hits while I’m not around, but it is certainly hard…a necessary evil I suppose.
On the physical side, I’m down 10lbs (that’s 30 total from my weight at 40 weeks pregnant) and seem to be on a little bit of a plateau, so I’m working past that. I took a little break from the C210K program because my knees can really feel the extra weight I’ve got, but did 2 miles today (run/walk) to try to get back into the swing of it. I’m also doing my first CrossFit class on Thursday! I’m really excited – Heidi, my sister in law, does CrossFit and looks amazing! She’s totally an inspiration and one of the reasons I’m giving CF a shot. I just hope I don’t make a total fool of myself.
I’ll be back soon, promise…
