Since I feel like the weekly updates aren’t terribly exciting anymore, I wanted to do another quick ‘survey’ of sorts regarding this pregnancy and Lady B. I’ll also have some new categories tomorrow for week 29 (I know, so exciting, right?!) So without further ado…
Hair Color? Brown
Eye Color? Hazel
Weight? Haha no.
About The Father
Hair Color? Brown/Auburn
Eye Color? Brown
Are you still together? Not my survey, can’t knock the questions…yep – married in June 2010, still going strong!
About Your Pregnancy
Is this your first pregnancy? Bingo!
When did you find out you were pregnant? October 2, 2012
Was it planned? It wasn’t unplanned – as in, we weren’t actively trying, but we weren’t preventing either, so if it happened, it happened. And here we are!
What was your first reaction? Good thing I kept track of it here, here, here, and here. Basically shock and excitement 🙂
Who was with you when you found out? Stout! He was, of course, in the bathroom with me, so he got the news even before his daddy.
Who was the first person you told? I guess I already answered this, but if a dog counts, then Stout, then the next was Robert, of course.
How did your parents react? I think there was quite a bit of excited shock across the board. Everyone is thrilled, but since we hadn’t said we were actively trying, I think we caught a few folks off guard. Not to mention it’s hard to gauge reactions over Skype!
How far along are you? 29 weeks today! 11 to go – holy moly.
What was your first symptom? I think thirst was? Or exhaustion. Apparently my current symptom is memory-loss. It’s a good thing I kept this journal!
What is your due date? June 5!!
Do you know the sex of the baby? Sure do!
If so, what is it? A little lady!
Have you picked out names? We have a list of names that we will take to the hospital and pick from when she arrives and we get a good look at her.
If so, what are they? Not tellin’
How much weight have you gained? Nunya biznis. I’m right on track, according to the doctor. (so nosey..)
Do you have stretch marks? Not yet *knocking on wood* and I hope I don’t get them!
Have you felt the baby move? All. the. time.
Have you heard the heartbeat? Absolutely have! Last appointment was 144. Strong little lady.
About the birth
Will you keep the baby? Oooh I suppose. 😉 (of course!)
Home or hospital birth? Hospital
Natural or medicated birth? Medicated. I’ll go as long as I can without.
Who will be in the delivery room with you? Just Robert!
Will you breastfeed? Planning on it! I know it’s the best for Lady B, and lets be honest, it won’t hurt to have a bit of help losing some of this baby weight, so in the name of being vain, I will try my hardest!
Do you think you’ll need a c-section? I really hope not.
Will you cry when you hold the baby for the first time? I imagine I will, so long as I’m not too doped up 😉 If not the first time, I am sure the water works will start shortly thereafter.
What’s the first thing you might say to her? I have no idea, but I’m sure it will be something silly or obvious, like, Oh wow, it’s a baby! or Hello.
Would you let someone videotape the birth? Absolutely not.
Are you excited about the birth, or scared? Both. I’m very excited to meet her and see this little thing that we made together. I’m oddly excited for the process. I’m a bit nervous thinking about the pain, how much pain I’ll have, and ESPECIALLY nervous about the pain afterwards. I’ve been chatting with friends and reading up a bit and the thought of some of the stuff that goes on ‘down there’ is terrifying for me. I won’t go into the nitty gritty (and you don’t want me to) and I HOPE that I’m just hearing and reading the worst, but I feel like my pain tolerance when there is a reward at the end (i.e. Lady B) will be completely different than my pain tolerance for healing. I’ll definitely go into this more down the road, as well as let you guys in on our ‘birth plan’.
