Lady B’s Size: Cucumber (or head of cabbage…) – 15.2 to 16.7 inches long and likely 2.5 to 2.5 pounds!
Lady B’s developments: Lady B’s eyesight continues to develop. Her skin is getting smoother and her brain is getting wrinklier (if she’s as smart as her daddy, it’ll be pretty big too!). She’s also apparently strong enough now to grasp a finger! Her daddy’s smarts and her mama’s strength 😉
Currently Craving: Probably all of the things I shouldn’t want or have. Like chocolate. And Sweet Frog (frozen yogurt) with lots of toppings. And milk. Still loving pineapple and strawberries. Also seriously craving sunshine and warmth, but there isn’t much I can do about that, unless someone wants to fly me down to the caribbean for a couple days? Any takers??
How’s the belly looking: Last week, 29 weeks:
And this week, 29 weeks:
check out that hair do!
Hey – you know that growth spurt I blamed on pants last week? Yeah, well, apparently, I’ve put on a few pounds in the past two weeks. 7.5 to be exact. Who the F gains 7.5 pounds in 2 weeks?? Apparently yours truly. I stepped on the scale this morning at the doctors office and my reaction was “uh oh…” – then I told Robert that my Dr. was probably going to be mad at me. I told Robert how much I had gained and he seemed impressed! Not happy impressed, just…impressed…like – wow, that’s a lot in a little bit of time. So I definitely wasn’t GOOD the past 2 weeks but I wasn’t terrible either. I chalk it up to the weather sucking and not wanting to walk in the cold and snow, and work stress. Either way, sister needs to reign it in and be better. I’ll be tracking calories again on MyFitnessPal and just trying to be better in general…hoping that 2 weeks from now, the scale will only be up a little bit. But that 7.5 gain hurt a bit, hah! Doc said (in a very nice and pleasant way) to focus on drinking water (stay away from sodas, juice, milk, anything with empty calories that won’t fill me up) and if I get ‘hungry’ to drink water first (apparently I need to do that now, since I am feeling hunger pangs) and then, if about 30 minutes later I’m still hungry, eat something. He also mentioned a sensible diet and exercise, but we all know that. So basically it is what it is, just gotta keep an eye on it.
Sleep & Dreams: I slept like a rock last night, the night before I had a bit of tossing and turning, and the night before that, I woke up at some point in the middle of the night – I think it was because Stout puked again – and couldn’t get back to sleep because I was STARVING. I fought it off, but man, my stomach was all kinds of growling. I hope that doesn’t happen again!
How I am feeling: Feeling good still – feeling rather large at the moment, but good overall. I FINALLY got my hair cut and colored yesterday and that made me feel good 🙂 Otherwise just the random feet swelling (must drink more water) and strong kicks from Lady B that usually hit my stomach or my bladder.
Evidence of Pregnancy Brain: We FINALLY bought shampoo! I haven’t been too bad this week, but I’ve been keeping lists, so that helps. No fun stories to report though…
Movement: She beats me up. Melissa felt a good kick the other day, it was a pretty strong one, so she was excited that she got to feel that. Robert was laying down with his head on my stomach last night and she was shifting around, not sure if he felt it though. She pretty much moves all the time.
Exercise: Yea yea yea, I haven’t been good the past couple of weeks but now that spring might ACTUALLY be feeling springy, I’ll be outside more. Last week, this happened:
Which seriously put a damper on my walking. In March. At the END of March. ugh. I truly feel that walking 2-3 miles every day/every other day really helped me, so I need to stick with that. Maybe today is a good day for a couple miler – anyone want to join me? 🙂 Melissa?
Innie or outie: Still rocking the innie
Stretch marks: Nope, not yet…
Rings on or off: On. Only my feet swell really…my hands are pretty normal.
Maternity wear: Still every day, at least the bottoms. And all of those dresses I ordered – I’m keeping them all 🙂 They are super comfy and cute and I have a feeling I’ll be living in them all summer.
Baby related purchases: I was good and didn’t buy anything! We did get some awesome gifts in the mail AND the lovely ladies I work with threw me a ‘shower-like’ shower yesterday at lunchtime, and we got some adorable outfits, courtesy of Natalie and Rebecca, and some baby toys, burp cloths, and a sweet gift card! I’ll take pictures of the loot tonight – it was so very kind of everyone to come help me celebrate and to be so generous!
Days until due date: 69 – holy moly! Fun things: We had an open-house of sorts last week to watch the first round of the NCAA tournament, and several friends came and brought their sweet babies and puppies. Some images:
Stout was a CHAMP with the babies! Granted he wanted to get close and see what they were all about, but Tyler (our friend Mike and Michelle’s adorable baby) LOVED Stout – he cracked up everytime Stout got near him, and would pull on Stouts face, and the dog could have cared less – so that totally makes me feel good about bringing Lady B into the house, knowing he’ll just be interested in her 🙂 He did such a good job with the kiddos!
Robert also got me 1,000 day anniversary tulips – aren’t they pretty!
And of course:
no post would really be complete without a picture of Stout and his girlfriend 🙂 They are both ‘smiling’ – such cute puppies we have!
