Have I mentioned that Spring is here? Pretty sure I’ve come across the topic once or twice. Today was the day to “fill-‘er up” – meaning the garden and my lovely planters!
Since I had to take Sebbah to the vet this morning to get shaved (I remembered this time to tell them to trim his neck and paws after they do the lion cut, so he doesn’t look as ridiculous, hah), I decided to go by Strange’s garden store and pick up the rest of our veggies for our garden!
This is from several weeks ago, with our two raised beds, before we added another ground level bed.
Robert working hard to get the garden ready and all tilled up.
After I cut through the extension cord. Whoops. Thank you electrical tape.
Almost done! I didn’t take a ‘finished’ picture, but you can imagine that those landscape timbers just enclose it.
Here is one of our raised beds at the same time, several weeks ago, with lettuce, brussels sprouts, broccoli and strawberries
Here are my Strange’s purchases. I picked up jalapeno peppers, habanero peppers, bell peppers, roma and better boy tomatoes, watermelons, thyme and rosemary, and then also impatiens and petunas for our hanging planters in the front of the house.
Turns out, I got way too many impatiens and petunas for the hanging pots, so I decided to plant the left overs around our hydrangeas by the back steps – this is the before
And the after! Pretty little flowers
Hard to see here but they are there, I promise 🙂
Front of the house, with our pretty tulips and the hanging plants
We planted about 150 tulip, daffodil and hyacinth bulbs in the front, and they are bloomin’!
Updated house shot – it’s been a while 🙂
I love our pink and red tulips. You can see our house from the front of the neighborhood 🙂
And my planters are full! And I have 2 extra pots with no planter…guess I have to make another one 🙂
Oh – remember that picture of the 1st raised bed up top?? This was taken today, look at how much bigger the veggies are! The brussels sprouts are taking off, and broccoli isn’t far behind and the lettuce looks great! The strawberries seem to be struggling a little bit, hopefully they’ll take off soon.
And the 2nd raised bed with 2 each of roma and better boy tomatoes, bell peppers, and 3 cucumbers.
Here’s hopin’ they’ll grow us lots of yummy veggies!
