Today was a long day of skiing. Not only was I sore from yesterday’s lesson with Metree, but I don’t think I have the right boots for my legs, so my shins hurt like no other.
This morning was especially rough, with my legs just plain tired from yesterday and the aching shins I was ready to call it a day after lunch. I am glad I didn’t.
We got to the top of the tow rope on one of the runs and saw everyone stopping at the top over looking the valley. We stopped to see what all of the fuss was about. It was a mama moose and her baby. It was amazing. I have never seen a moose before so I was especially excited to see this mama with her little one in tow, munching on the tree tops and balancing along narrow ridges, giving all of the human on lookers a show. I got several great pictures that I can’t wait to post.
It really made all of the hurting shins and sore muscles worth it. I did call it a day when we got down that final run…I took those moose as an hint that it was okay to stop for the rest of the day and relax a little :). So today I am grateful for those wild moose.
