Check out our newest project – raised vegetable gardens!
Initially, we decided raised gardens would just look nice. Good thing, because once we started digging, we realized the soil was all clay and needed a jackhammer to get through (or in Robert’s case, a 1″ drill bit…the neighbors were cringing I’m sure…)
We started with wood. Lots of wood. And lots of tools.
Here are our posts!
He also got to work digging holes for the posts (I am allowed to dig, I was documenting. Plus when I dig, I do so at incorrect angles, leaving Robert to fix my holes…so might as well just let him do it right to start with 😉 )
And here we are – almost done! We got some nicer wood with finished edges to lay around the perimeter on top to give us somewhere to set veggies when we pick them! 🙂 Guess who nail-gunned that plastic in there? Yep – me! I can do something with a ‘power’ tool (ok…a stapler isn’t a power tool – i get that – just let me have my moment…)
They look amazing, especially with the ledge on top – Good thing Robert likes to play in dirt and went and got a few loads of soil for the beds (thanks for the truck Meghan!) – I’ll post some pictures once we put our veggies in there, which out to be soon!! 🙂
