It’s a new year! I know it’s been close to 3 weeks without any new posts, but with all of the holiday travels, parties and excitement it’s been hard to find time to anything other than clean, rearrange furniture, and most importantly, spend time with family and friends.
We saw a lot of you over the holidays and gave you verbal updates of what we had going on. As of late, the most we have on our plate is getting the house in order, taking down the holiday decorations and figuring out what pieces can stay, which can go, and which need to be replaced.
My mom graciously gave us a great solid mahogany drop-leaf table that at one time belonged to her mother which we now have in our morning room, but will go in the dining room once we are able to refinish it (which won’t happen until it warms up to at least over 45 degrees!). We are currently keeping our eyes open for another option for seating in the morning room (a chaise, chofa, snuggler or loveseat), a counter height table for the morning room, rugs, and more.
The first big project we think we’ll be doing in the house is putting in a backsplash in the kitchen. We have a few ideas (some conflicting), but once we narrow down our thoughts, we’ll let you know what we are choosing from!
In the meantime, we’ll be painting, hanging curtains and pictures (thanks to Jenn, Andy and Robert’s mom, Debbie, for the frames!!) and trying to keep everything in place.
We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and is looking forward to a great 2010, as we are! 🙂
