A big thanks to Hurricane Ida who is currently dumping inch upon inch of rain on practically the entire east coast and halting our sod from being put in. It’s just gross out!
Since we aren’t able to focus on the outside of the house – I’ve been trying to gather some inspiration on how to decorate the inside of the house once we are able to move in. Many of you probably think that this is the thing I’m most excited about – decorating, painting, getting new things – but when you have a big blank canvas you are working with that no one else has ever decorated or painted and everything is white/neutral, well it can be overwhelming.
Therefore, I’m going to put up some of the images I’ve found that I really like and hopefully it will help me to better organize my thoughts regarding how I’d like to decorate our new house!
First, we’ll start with the bathrooms! I am finding that I’m a big fan of soft colors, like muted greens and blues, and anything that just feels warm and cozy.
Bathroom #1: This is very similar to the color of our cabinets in the bathrooms, although we do not have hardwood in ours. I like the paint color and how it blends well but stands out from the wall color. I also like the green rug – little rustic but not your typical bath mat.
Bathroom #2: Again, very similar to the color of our cabinets with the brushed nickel round knobs. Our counters are similar to these, only ours are marble. I really like the taupe wall color, and I LOVE the idea of putting a lamp in – makes it look so warm!
Bathroom #3: Again, same cabinets – I really like the frame around the mirror with the tall candlesticks, it reminds me of a hotel 🙂 And the framing on the wall is such a good idea, most only think of doing that in the dining room! The dark curtains also make it not so bathroom-y, I really like that idea.
Lastly, for the bathrooms – even though this isn’t a room, I found this and LOVE the idea of using mismatched tableware for bathroom things (cotton balls, q-tips, make up, etc.) It makes things available for everyone to use, but in a very interesting, non-traditional way. So fun!!
These are all the bathrooms I’ve found so far that strike my fancy, but I’m sure I’ll keep looking for more ideas! I’ll add another couple of posts today to reflect the other rooms of the house I’m thinking about 🙂
