It’s been a while since I’ve posted, I know, but it’s true what everyone’s said so far…the ‘house’ goes up quick, it’s everything else on the inside that takes forever. It also doesn’t help that we’ve had a lack of an operational camera for a while – but I finally got a charger for my old camera, a memory stick reader and whatever else we need, so we’re all set.
We spoke to the contractor last week, and he told us that the house might be finished about a week ahead of schedule (yay!), buuuttt we’re not holding our breath. There are still a few things that need to be fixed that will now require more work than they would have a few weeks ago (like the pendant lights over the peninsula in the kitchen, where they are now, anytime someone opens the cabinet on the end, it will crash into the pendant light. We notified them of this before dry wall was hung, but now they’ve dry-walled, sanded and painted before they moved those lights, so that will be a bit of a pain to fix…). Either way, they are making quite a bit of progress. We should have flooring, (maybe) cabinets and our deck by the end of this week.
Here are some picture updates for you:
This is the dining room from the front door
Looking upstairs from the front door
Living room with all of our accordian doors 🙂 They’ve also encased the fireplace, you can see it if you look closely
From the front door looking straight ahead, stairs, morning room straight ahead.
They’ve definitely made lots of progress, some which isn’t noted here, but I plan on going to the house today since I’m off work and snapping some more current photos, since they’ve painted quite a bit more (including the doors, front and back), and hopefully they’ll have made some progress on the deck!
If you’re lucky, you’ll get 2 blog updates in 1 day! 🙂
