Ok, so not really sticks and stones, but we have made quite a bit of progress on our new house. And by ‘we,’ I mean the construction guys working in the sweltering heat, and by ‘quite a bit’ I mean we have a foundation! And for signing the contract on June 30th, obtaining the building permit on July 31st, already having a foundation is phenomenal.
And yes, those are our front steps combined with porch! At the left is our garage, and up the stairs, in the front door to the right is the dining room, and behind that – the kitchen. Beautiful right?!
Here is an alternate view of our home from the kitchen (so the dining room is now far left). That nook on the right is our morning room, and at the top of the picture is our living room.
On August 11th, we went back out and scoped the area. They had removed the debris and filled in our foundation with gravel.
This is the view looking into the garage.
So is this…Robert was taking the pictures. I think he’s scoping out the garage to make sure stewie can fit.
I’m pretty sure this is the kitchen. I could be wrong.
Anyway, I know it isn’t much to look at now, but I’m thinking by next week we’ll have walls. Lucky for me our neighbor two lots down has the exact same house (different elevation though) which is almost complete, so we’ve been able to walk through their house and be knit-picky with a few things we might want different in our house.
Stay tuned for more updates!
